For those who are unaware, early this morning history was made when
one of the greatest club in the world won their 20th league title (13th Premier League). The title was more or less decided already a few weeks ago, it was just a matter of when Man Utd would make it mathematically impossible for Man Shitty City to catch them.

There's no denying the fact that one man made a huge difference to the club this season. As with every other club, there is always one man who makes a difference. In seasons past, the men who made the difference were Ronaldo, Rooney and van Nistelrooy. This year however, it was all about van Persie. The club's top scorer (as well as the league's) with 24 goals, his purchase from Arsenal was a stroke of genius from Sir Alex Ferguson.
As significant as RvP was this season, we also can't overlook the contributions of his strike partner Wayne Rooney. Leading the club's assist chart with 9 assists and adding 12 goals to the club's tally, he too made a significant contribution to the title charge.

This being the club's 20th title extends the club's lead over arch rivals Liverpool who have been stuck on 18 since 1990 and Arsenal who are on 13. Chelsea and Man City are on 4 and 3 league titles respectively. Fun fact: Everton, Aston Villa and Sunderland have each won more titles than Chelsea and Man City. True story. The trophy will be presented after United's last home game of the season, against Swansea on the 12th of May.
Having the title already in the bag, Man Utd will now be chasing the record for highest points in a season. That record currently belongs to Chelsea who scored 95 points in the 2004-2005 season. Man Utd need to win ALL their remaining games in order to beat that.
Difficult, yes. Impossible? No. GLORY GLORY MAN UTD!!
